Education and Second Life
Second Life is an internet based virtual world in which people interact with one another via avatars and engage range of activities. They can explore the world, meet and form friendships with others. You can create and personalise your avatar which can be a representation of you, the opposite sex, an animal or even an abstract shape. I met this game thanks to one of my teachers. I learned that Second Life is also used as a platform for education by many institutions, such as colleges, universities, libraries and government entities.
I think Second Life is an application that is far from boredom. In our country, foreign language is very hard to learn because there is no facility to practice. So, teachers should do different activities. Teachers can prepare an educational environment and they can control time and space as they wish in Second Life.
